![]() It also meant the British isles were in striking distance and those provinces don’t typically see hun attacks. I was holding out for ages as one of the Slavic factions but eventually it was just too much, so I upped and left, went to Scandinavia and set up a foothold there, it was not a hugely fertile area but it provided a strong, easily defensible position where I could expand from. It was always fun that you could uproot a faction if things were going terribly. Agents were less overpowered than rome 2 but still very useful. If there were multiple incoming I would use an agent to slow one of them down in the hopes that only one of them advances so I could take it on solo. Sometimes I would even create a razed buffer zone around my settlements, I would station agents there to keep an eye out for Hun stacks. So you had to be measured about your expansion and make sure you could defend it. ![]() So along came Attila, it really changed up the formula, instead of it being a game where you get going and then conquer a settlement every other then it was more of a survival game, there are rampaging armies everywhere and if they get behind your lines they could raze a settlement you took ages developing to the ground. For me Attila came at a time where I was getting a bit bored of the franchise, rome 2 was a disappointment at release and even now had annoyingly long win conditions. I’m not the OP but Attila is my most played total war on steam at least. Think we missed one? Give us a Modmail and suggest new Subreddits to add to the lists!
